In GageMakkal, a Dependency Group is used to define a set of standard instruments required for calibrating another instrument. This ensures that the necessary references are available before calibration can proceed. Dependency Groups can include multiple instruments and specify required versions.  Any one of the multiple standards in a group is required to proceed calibration. 

The system will notify you in advance if any standard instruments required for a Dependency Group are scheduled for calibration, ensuring timely calibration of all instruments.Based on dependency groups' calibration due date, dependent gages/instruments will advance notification to calibrate before dependency group goes out for calibration. 

ℹ Information A warnigng status (⚠) appears on the dependent instruments when the dependency group starts getting alerts for calibration.

Steps to Create a Dependency Group

1. Navigate to All Dependency Group page: From the main menu, select the "Master" option. and then click on "Dependency" to open the Dependency Group page.

2. Add New Dependency Group:  Click the plus sign (+) in the top right corner to create a new group.

3. Enter Group Name:  In the pop-up form, provide a name for the group, For eg. "Multimeter Voltage Function Group"

4. Specify Instruments:  List the required instruments by their serial numbers. For example, "Std Vernier Caliper" or "Std DMM".  Notice you would need either of this instruments to calibrate the depenedent gage/instrument.

5. Save the Group:  Click "Save" to save the new Dependency Group.

Steps to Add a Dependency Group to an Instrument

1. Navigate to All Instruments page: From the main menu, select the "Master" option. and then click on "Dependency" to open the Dependency Group page.

2. Edit Specific Instrument: Open the instrument which you want to add a Dependency Group and click to "Edit" button.  To calibrate this instrument, it needs either of those instrument listed in dependency group.

3. Add Dependency Group: Under the "Dependency Group" section, select the previously created Dependency Group (e.g., "Multimeter Voltage Function Group").   ℹ Information ANDLogic:  You can add multiple Dependency Groups to an instrument, setting conditions where any one instruments from all groups are required for calibration.

   
   

4. Save Changes:  Click "Save" to update the instrument with the Dependency Group.
